Three Fundametal Islamic Star Patterns

This course is suitable for beginners and those who have drawn some geometric patterns but would like to deepen their understanding of the underlying geometric principles and of the process of drawing with ruler and compass.

In this course we will be drawing and studying three common Islamic star patterns found in historic monuments and manuscripts from all over the Islamic world.

In the videos I will guide you through the process of drawing the patterns on paper with ruler and compass. I will share insights into the construction and drawing process as we go through it in real time. At the end I will take an analytical view of the patterns and the underlying geometry in a presentation to help build your foundational understanding of the patterns.
