This course is suitable for those who have some previous experience of drawing geometric patterns. All steps will be demonstrated and explained in the videos and PDFs so that students can replicate the patterns using ruler and compass or software, although the focus is on ruler and compass drawing.

In this course we will be drawing and studying three base layouts for constructing patterns with 14-pointed star motifs. On these bases we will construct three different patterns.

In the videos I will guide you through the process of drawing the patterns on paper with ruler and compass. I will share insights into the construction and drawing process as we go through it in real time. There is also a presentation in which I will take an analytical view of the patterns and the underlying geometry to help build your foundational understanding of the patterns.
